The Markets are at the heart of Provence. Whether you love antiques or enjoy sampling the fruit, vegetables, breads and cheese of Provence you should try to visit at least one market while in Provence!

GORDES

Gordes sits at the north side of the Luberon Valley and is one of Provence’s most picturesque Luberon hilltop villages. The view driving into Gordes of the village is spectacular, and while in Gordes, the view over the Luberon Valley is also very beautiful. (After the market, enjoy lunch at La Bastide des Gordes on their patio, or at Clover Gordes, the restaurant by Chef Jean-François Piège.)

L’ISLE-SUR-LA-SORGUE

The village of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is known for its antiques. Antique stores are open throughout the city on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The brocante market at L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is an antique and curio market held on Sunday mornings. (After the market, enjoy lunch at Jardin du Quai.)

ST. REMY

The St. Remy Market is one of the most popular markets in Provence and St. Remy is a charming town. Van Gogh famously painted in Provence and was in a psychiatric hospital in St. Remy. There are many shops and restaurants to enjoy after the market in St. Remy.​

EYGALIÈRES

In the hilltop charming village, Eygalieres, the Eygalieres Market is a bit smaller and features both fruit, vegetables and cheese stands but also a variety of vendors who are local artists selling their craft. (After the market, enjoy lunch at Maison Hache.)​

VILLENEUVE-LÈS-AVIGNON

Thursdays and Saturdays, 8am to noon  |  Learn more.

Our local markets in our village of Villeneuve-les-Avignon operate every Thursday and Saturday. Thursday is a fruit and vegetable market and Saturday is a brocante/antique market.
